To:  U.S. Congress

Remember the Intrepid!

We citizens of Somers Point, New Jersey, the United States and the World, do hereby request the Congress of the United States, the U.S. Navy and the governments of the United States and Libya do whatever is necessary to repatriate Lt. Commander Richard Somers and the officers (Lt. Henry Wadsorth and Joseph Israel) and gallant crew (10 sailors and marines) of the U.S.S. Intrepid, who died on September 4, 1804 during the War against the Barbary Pirates and are buried near Tripoli Harbor.

Before Congress removes economic sanctions against Libya, before reparations are paid for the victims of terrorism, before beginning negotiations over money and oil, remember the Intrepid, and seek the repatriation of Lt. Richard Somers and his men, who were left behind.

200 Years is too long.
